I saw the following at Bonnaroo this year:
Grouplove - awesome energy, fun show. Will absolutely see them again.
Trampled by Turtles- only saw part show. great musicians but not really my type of music, but my friends loved it
Mariachi El Bronx- So much sound live, one of my favorite finds this year. win out the conflict with Cold War kids for me!
Fitz & the Tantrums- Great live show. Covered Steady as You Go & Sweetdreams!! Noelle-the lady lead singer- has a great voice and leads things almost as much as Fitz
Moon Taxi- good up and coming group, nice sound
Charles Bradley-he is really old but he is enjoying the hell out performing still and his backing band are great musicians. will be a good set to chill out to in the heat of the mid afternoon.
OTHERS I HAVE SEEN:
Young the Giant- Saw in a venue in April. They are enjoyable but pretty much straight from the albums and plowed right thru the set with no audience interaction
Head in the Heart - saw them 3 times last year. One of my favorite albums and their harmonies and energy are great live.
Cold War Kids -saw at Bonnaroo 2011. Good show but nothing real memorable
The Flaming Lips - saw at Bonnaroo 2010 and Memphis in May 2011. Whether you know their music or not...you gotta catch the first 20 minutes of their set. They blow off cannons full of confetti, launch tons of huge balloons and Wayne crowd surfs in a gigantic see thru hamster-like ball!!
Graffiti 6 - seen them 2 times. If they are they with a full band set up -they can really jam. When it's just the 2 guys..its pretty mellow. I assume they will be full band and will be seeing them over Young the Giant.
Artists that I am loving their music and psyched to see:
Mayer Hawthorne, Silversuns Pickups, Passion Pit and The Felice Brothers.
And the whole reasons I'm not missing this festival....finally CAN SEE THE KILLERS!!!!
