I don't see Fleetwood Mac playing. Totally a different type of festival I think. Definitely possible for Roo though. Kendrick Lamar is THE thing right now, expect him at most festivals. Love him.

In keeping with the spirit of diversity that we saw in last year's line up, I can't shake the idea that it would be so cool to see Elvis Costello play the main stage. Maybe a late afternoon set, before the headliner.

What are your thoughts on Coachellas line up?? I think the top is weak but they have a real good undercard.
would love to see any of the following bands at firefly: Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jurassic 5, how to destroy angels, tegan and sara, Of Monsters, Japandroids, Stars, Postal Service, Sigur Ros, Two Door Cinema Club, Foals, Portgual. The Man, Allen Stone, Vampire Weekend, Gaslight Anthem, the Faint, Cloud Nothings, Smith Westerns

I would personally like some bands that aren't playing any other festivals
Death Grips St. Vincent Sleigh Bells Deftones Beck Pixies Foo Fighters The Knife A$AP ROCKY Big Boi The Tallest Man on Earth The Men Battles M83 Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti Metz and Louis CK for good measure
..any of those would be amazing.

Mouserat - good picks. I think Coachella's lineup is pretty good. The Friday and Saturday is cool but Sunday is very meh. The under card supersedes the headliners exorbitantly. I thought RHCP were done? Blur probably cost them a fortune.

The Coachella headliners are horrible if you ask me. The only headliner I might see is Blur. Phoenix to me isn't a headliner yet. If they do play Firefly I hope they are a second tier band.
I love the rest of Coachella's line up though. The headliners aren't worth paying $350 for GA.
Lou Reed, Dropkick Murphys, Violent Femmes, Franz Ferdinand, and Knife Party would be awesome @ Firefly.

The Wallflowers played last year and they didn't really fit. They had a small crowd and if you were born after 1992 you probably don't know who they were. Fleetwood Mac would be a good Sunday night headliner I think

Fleetwood Mac is very unlikely. Fleetwood tour dates are announced through June and it seems they are just leaving 1-2 days between each date.
After looking at Coachella lineup, I think Phoenix is out of the question. I don't think Firefly could pull in any Coachella headliners (which are not so great this year). Yeah Yeah Yeah's being billed second one day and Vampire Weekend being billed third on another makes me think that they do have headlining potential.
Then again Modest Mouse was not billed all that high, though they were a late addition, and they are billed third on Friday at Coachella.
Some others I think are likely to be up towards the top of the Firefly lineup after looking at the Coachella lineup: Franz Ferdinand (fits that alternative niche well), Gaslight Anthem, Band of Horses, Dog Blood (no clue what this is but I know Skrillex is involved and that would be a good get if they can't get DeadMau5), Weezer or a similar band (to fill that Cake spot)

Damn a lot of bands on that fest were things I was expecting to see here. I'd like to look what other festivals are going on in the area that week.

Total buzzkill about Gaslight Anthem playing that festival and not firefly this year. I was really hoping they would be playing.
